Concierge Care

According to the recent GAO report on the effects of concierge care on Medicare beneficiary care access, concierge care is “an approach to medical practice in which physicians charge their patients membership fees in exchange for enhanced services or amenities.” These enhanced services typically include:

  • same or next-day appointments
  • 24-hour telephone access
  • extended office visits
  • wellness planning and nutrition planning

Physicians typically charge between $1,500 and $2,000 for access to these and other enhancements.
