Web Poll Results: Are Hospitalists Beneficial for Medicine?
A recent web poll by Medical Econcomics (www.memag.com) asked the following question: Are hospitalists good for medicine?:
54% Yes, they can give inpatients more attention than I can
18% Doesn't matter - can't afford not to use anymore
20% No, patients feel abandoned by their primary care doctor
8% No, quality of care for inpatients is much lower with hospitalists
