Keep patient information up-to-date

Many physicians have mailed registration forms to new patients in hopes that they’ll fill them out before coming to the office. Now, a few have started offering online registration for new patients—either as a form they can print right off the Web site or a true on-screen registration form.

Whether it’s for new patients or current ones, impress upon all your employees the importance of udating patient information whenever they can. People change employment and insurance coverage more often than ever before. And your billing staff wastes precious time sending claims to the wrong company, wrong address or with incorrect information like the insured’s name or plan number.
