Using your 2008 CPT frequency report, make a spreadsheet with the following four columns:

a) CPT Code (Starting with your highest utilized CPT, working your way down)

b) 2008 Medicare Reimbursement (Allowable)

c) 2009 Medicare Reimbursement (Allowable)

d) % change of b to c

 

Using this simple spreadsheet, you will be able to see the revenue impact of the 2009 Medicare fee schedule on your medical practice. You can also add the following columns to quantify the revenue impact:

e) b-c dollar difference

f) Utilization

g) Increase (decrease) in revenue
