Senate Democrats gained enough votes yesterday to break a Republican-led filibuster in a crucial procedurial vote this afternoon to move the House approved Medicare pay-fix bill forward. The bill will be sent to President Bush for his signature, but his administration said the proposal would be vetoed in its current form.
