In a poll released in the September issue of Physicians Practice (www.physicianspractice.com), a surprising number of physician practices already have EMRs. Electronic medical records are fast becoming the norm, not a cutting-edge technology according to the article accompanying the following EMR poll:
41% have fully implemented EMR
21% don’t plan to get an EMR anytime soon
20% have selected an EMR but not yet fully implemented it
7% are shopping for an EMR
5% plan to buy an EMR within 12 months
3% plan to buy an EMR within 6 months
2% use an EMR selected and provided by the hospital
1% plan to buy an EMR with 3 months
