I am here is Las Vegas speaking at the AICPA National Healthcare Conference (tough job but someone has to do it!) The keynote speaker, a prominent attorney in Washington DC, said he would "bet the ranch" that a bill will be presented to President Bush in December which will include a total ban on new physician owned hospitals. He thinks a "deal" has already been struck between Congress and the American Hospital Association. How currently physician owned hospitals would be grandfathered in is unclear at this point.
