FYI: On November 2, 2005, CMS issued a final rule that revised the definitions of "radiology and certain other imaging services" and "radiation therapy services and supplies” to specifically include diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services. Effective January 1, 2007, nuclear medicine will be a Designated Heath Service. As such, you will need to determine any potential impact on your practice's physician compensation formula if your practice does render nuclear medicine services to patients.
